What to do if your computer is too hot
There are several reasons why your computer can be overheating. This could be due a fault in your system or malfunctioning hardware, but also there are other simple things that may affect the overall performance and produce shut downs and strange events suddenly.
First of all, you can use compressed air spray to clean up the dust in the fan cooler. This doesn’t require you to open the laptop, but if you are experienced you can try to open it and clean up the fan cooler inside your laptop.
You can also buy a laptop cooler pad which may reduce your temperature while you use the computer over it.
Secondary, download any of these tools previously mentioned and check your system status as well as temperatures.
If your computer is too hot you can try to do some additional system modifications, for example Video card may be consuming lot of resources. You can start changing settings on your video card but also in the Power Options. In Windows you can do this easily by going to Control Panel and Power Options. Then click on Change Plan Settings and Advanced Settings. Go over each feature and for example you may find Processor Power Management and under it Maximum Processor State. Try reducing it a big, for example from 100% to 90% and see if your temperature is also reduced in a while.
